Buried Alive Under the Day-to-Day
‘The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.’ — C.G. Jung
I always say that some of our problems are luxury problems to have. Even though the struggle can be real and painful, there are little ways we can express ourselves within our world every day.
As a single mom to five beautiful children, I remind myself of this every day.
When other people complain, I sneak in this reminder, mentioning that whatever they are going through, there is an element of luxury.
The reactions are crazy and jarring, and some people have no idea what I am talking about. But I do; I had 3 hours to live when I was 26. I stand here at 41, counting my blessings.
The best comment I get is, “You must be a therapist.” and the answer is no, I’m not. I just learned how to be alive rather than allow life to bury me alive.
“The difference between a garden and a graveyard is only what you choose to put in the ground.”
